Allison was raised in a state of limbo, otherwise known as suburban New Jersey. Thanks to its particular terroir, her DNA is a tangle of ripe tomatoes, caramelized onions, NYC haunts, neighborhood pizza parlors, and so many bagels.

Time spent living and working in Hungary, Italy, Pakistan, and India led to an epiphany: exploring foodways was a delicious way of learning the history of the world. A graduate of Wesleyan University and UNISG in Northern Italy, she writes about the people, flavors, and places that help us reveal where (and who) we are.
